    FORGET ABOUT HEART OPENING.

    I have literally never once celebrated Valentine&rsquos day.  Well,unless you count with my mom.  Pretty funny since I have been togetherwith my man for almost thirteen years&hellip. Anyways, the point is that aside fromthe candy I am not so into V day, which is sort of sacrilegious in the wellness world where this week is all about &lsquocracking open your heart.&rsquo  Honestly,  I say forget about opening your heart.  Focus instead on making it Stronger. 

    Don&rsquot get me wrong, I love love.  And hugs are great and all, but yoga was not created thousands of years ago so that we would all fall in love with each other.  Nor was vegan food.  The ancient philosophers of yoga actually knew that was impossible.  They also knew that we could use the muscle of our mind to see and perceive things in better ways, one free of conflict and pain, and through that we could learn to love ourselves, those around us, and our world.

    February is riddled with heart opening yoga sequences and talks, ones I am not so sure work.  I offer you instead a three step action plan  to make your heart and mind stronger, so that you can truly feel compassion for everyone and everything around you.


    1. Try this Sequence at home, holding each pose 5-10 breaths.

    2. Share a Meal with Someone You love

    3. Smile at someone.  When it comes back to you, you will feel all warm and velvety inside.
